Klaytn, the public blockchain arm of South Korean mobile platform Kakao, recently announced in a press release its partnership with nine initial service providers from a variety of industry domains. These partners will help in expanding the reach of the blockchain in gaming and content. The partners will also help in advancing the platform and releasing more decentralized applications when the mainnet launches.
Who Are the New Partners? To make strides into the gaming industry, Klaytn has partnered with Wemade Tree. The company will rely on the market-proven gaming content of Wemade and include its broad portfolio of IPs into its blockchain technology. The focus will be redesigning in-game content that works smoothly with blockchain tech, more than digital item trading. Wemade will create a blockchain gaming ecosystem and solve speed and scalability challenges too.
The company’s foray into the content industry will be enabled by Piction Network, a next-gen digital content ecosystem that connects users to web novels and comics available on the blockchain. The solution will be applied to Battle Comics, a webtoon platform that already has a million active users.
Hint Chain, a blockchain-based food data project by Vital Hint, will also be partnering with Klaytn. Other partners include Sportsplex operator Nabu Studio, personal data marketplace for targeted advertising Airbloc, beauty content platform Cosmochain, game crowdfunding platform VETTA, data marketplace for patient-generated health data Humanscape, and Finda subsidiary Rayon, which provides counteroffer loan products.
Klaytn Gets to Prove UtilityKlatyn is dedicated to creating a blockchain service that provides a friendly user experience and easy development environment. It is designed for mass adoption by millions of users, which would validate the utility and value of blockchain technology. Klaytn was developed by Ground X, another blockchain subsidiary arm of Kakao, and its testnet was launched on Oct. 8.
The blockchain supports the creation of decentralized applications and makes adoption much easier. Therefore, the support of content and gaming providers will be crucial to making the project successful.
As per the press release, the goal of the blockchain is to “enhance user experience by providing a broad spectrum of blockchain services.” The release further states:
“With the deployed Klaytn testnet, the partners contribute towards further supplementing the platform and releasing DApp services for the mainnet launch thereby contributing to the popularization of blockchain.”
