John McAfee, the infamous business tycoon who is currently on the run from the authorities, is a well-known figure in the crypto space, especially on ‘crypto twitter.' Recently, he has announced a departure from his privacy-centered project Ghost in a tweet on August 19.
I am abandoning the the $Ghost project. Management is incapable of making a success of the project. It will, without a doubt fail. lI tried to explain the fundamental principles of management, but they fell on deaf ears. My apologies to those that I led astray" Sorry.

For those that have been following John McAfee for long won't be surprised by this decision given the business tycoon's record of joining weird projects and abandoning them mid-way.
One of the most infamous one being the Zombie coin, which he claimed was a project from China and he has joined them as an advisor. However, just a couple of months later, McAfee revealed that his partners are threatening to sue him, and he is no longer associated with the project.
The Ghost Project SagaJohn McAfee was a big-time Bitcoin proponent even during the 2018 bear market; however, recently, he has been quite critical of the king coin, especially regarding its privacy.
So, in April of this year, McAfee announced his privacy-focused project Ghost. However, the project landed in controversy even before an official launch as it was discovered that the white paper had been plagiarized from the white paper of PIVX, which is another anonymity-focused digital token.
McAfee also announced that he would be removing the Ghost tattoo he got before the start of the project. Soon after McAfee exit tweet surfaced, one of the executives at Ghost wrote in their official Telegram channel, saying that “John McAfee is a tech pioneer, a cool guy, and a loose cannon.” The rep further added:
“GHOST is an open-source, decentralized project. John can help market GHOST to his network or doesn't have to, but that does not affect the GHOST blockchain whatsoever. John is in no way involved in any day to day operations, nor has he ever been involved with any of the tech or building of GHOST.”
The representative also said that McAfee's name would be removed from the project and assured that his departure wouldn't cause any harm to the goal of the token.
