The founder and CEO of Tron, Justin Sun has said developers should deploy dApps to Tron blockchain rather Ethereum. The CEO made this statement after a developer, Afri Schoedon announced on his Twitter page that Ethereum was filled to capacity.
The announcement read:
“Please stop deploying d-apps to Ethereum. We are running at capacity. Use $ETC, $POA, or whatever else is available and bridge important stuff, these networks have plenty of capacity and are well supported by MyCrypto, MetaMask, etc.”
Schoedon’s suggestion to deploy “important stuff” to the Ethereum sidechain network Ethereum Classic or POA was as a result of cryptokitties taking up space on the bitcoin blockchain with over 59,000 transactions waiting to be processed.
The suggestion gave Sun the opportunity to sell his organization, saying Tron will offer better service than Ethereum.
“Yes! Please stop deploying d-apps to Ethereum and migrate to #TRON network immediately! We are 100x faster than #ETH and fully compatible with #ethereum. We 100% guarantee better user experience!”
According to Sun, Tron Virtual Machine is fully compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine and migrating to the Tron network will cost developers almost nothing.
In response to Sun’s claims, a Twitter user named Alvin Leong said:
“I love that confidence level 100% guaranteed better user experience. Well, make your work are convinced and get to top 10 list. keep it up #Tron #TRX”
James Burton added:
“But it’s not secure and it’s not scalable. #TRON was dead before it started. For Christ’s sake it’s named after a movie!”
Contrary to Sun’s claims, the Co-Founder of Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin said the congestion of Ethereum network is not a problem because “there are several dApps which can undergo gas utilization optimization”, adding that dApps will automatically switch to efficient gas utilization if one takes up too much gas.
As if specifically built to compete with Ethereum, all of Tron’s tools are similar to Ethereum tools. When beta version Tron Virtual Machine was launched, it its developer tools included Tron Web which is similar to Ethereum’s Web.js.
Its other tools Tronlink, Tron Tuffle, and Tron Remix are equivalent to Ethereum’s Metamask, Ethereum’s Truffle, while Tron Remix is even a version of Ethereum’s remix.
It appears Tron is looking to take over Ethereum’s business not just in the cryptocurrency market but also in dApps development. Ethereum’s cryptokitties were meant to improve the network’s quality of service but it seems it may become the weak point that competitors will exploit. What will Ethereum do now?
