BlockQuake in Talks with Ripple for Partnership
Just yesterday, we shared how eToro CEO is “very interested” in having a partnership with Ripple. And before that, the CEO of the largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance has shared his interest in striking a partnership with xRapid, Ripple’s XRP-powered product.
Now, there is yet another cryptocurrency exchange that is exploring a partnership with Ripple. BlockQuake, a relatively new crypto exchange on the block which according to its website, “is a FinTech company, striving to be the NASDAQ / NYSE of cryptocurrency/digital asset exchanges. BlockQuake aims to be the industry standard amongst exchanges for global compliance and transparency. Our goal is to make the BlockQuake trading platform the go-to digital asset exchange for traders, retail and institutional alike.”
The BlockQuake team took to Twitter to share that it had a meeting with Ripple’s NYC team and a potential partnership could be coming in near future.
In an interview last year in late August, the CEO of BlockQuake, Antonio Brasse shared its plans to work directly with the regulatory experts that will be the “fastest exchange” on the market with “testing it for up to 100 million transactions per second.”
Back in August 2018, Ripple has partnered up with three cryptocurrency exchanges viz. US-based Bittrex, Philippine-based Coin.Ph, and Mexican Bitso. At that time, Ripple Chief Strategist Cory Johnson who is now no more with the company has stated,
“We’ve seen several successful xRapid pilots already, and as we move the product from beta to production later this year, these exchange partners will allow us to provide financial institutions with the comfort and assurance that their payments will move seamlessly between different currencies.”
Now, Send XRP on 40+ Million LocationsXRP is the latest digital asset to be added on SpendApp after Litecoin and Dash. This means, now XRP holders can buy, sell, exchange, and spend their XRP stash in over 40 million locations that are spread out in more than 180 countries. This is certainly a nice kick to XRP’s adoption that Ripple team is continuously working on.

Spend allows the users to store, spend, and send straight from their Spend wallet that currently has about 16 cryptocurrencies. Moreover, the app also offers the benefit of currency swap inside the app itself that involves crypto to crypto or fiat to crypto.
“When using the card, it converts on the fly. All you have to do is activate the asset and swipe! The Spend Authorization Engine converts to local fiat currency prior to loading on the network.”
By having a partnership with Visa, Spend provides its users the option of using the Spend card from anywhere in the world. It further charges a very small fee that works in its favour.
