The TRON Foundation released on December 7, its weekly report about the technical developments on the TRON ecosystem.
In terms of growth, TRON saw the addition of seven new applications this week, increasing the total number of DApps to 28. Most of the new games are gambling games that dominated the 24-hour trading volume, reaching 700,000 transactions by 3.96k daily active users.
However, this figure is expected to further increase as soon as DApphouse lists the trading volumes of Tronscan DEX, which have not yet been accounted for in the report. It is indicative that the 24-hour volume of the remaining DApps together, completed 80 transactions from 24 users, as their activity was significantly lower compared to gambling games.
New Gaming Platforms Built on TRON BlockchainThis week the TRON report introduced Tronfun, a decentralized gaming platform. Tronfun recently launched TronPixel, a blockchain-based drawing game, on which users can create interesting artworks and permanently record on the blockchain.
The game includes the purchase of new or pre-owned pixels at an increased price, as well as a reward pool that distributes prizes to equity holders and is automatically activated after a threshold of 10,000 purchased pixels is met. Tronfun plans to release more traditional dice games, as gambling is one of the most profitable industries and will contribute to the platform’s goal to form a small ecosystem of games.
HitDAPPs is another gaming platform, the first to launch after the completion of the TRON network and the launch of the Turing-complete TVM. The Australian-based HitDAPPs has three games already operating on the TRON ecosystem. FOMO, a lottery game where the last key buyer wins the 1.2 million TRX of the prizing pool, as well as the traditional gambling games, Dice Classic and Coinflip.
The company has plans to release more P2P multiplayer games, like Dice, Lotto, Pixel Art Trading, and sandbox card trading games. This move is expected to add value to the native HIT token, which powers all operations on the HitDAPPs platform. HitDAPPs that will create a Buyback Fund to repurchase HIT tokens had been developing its Decentralized Applications on the EOS blockchain and only recently moved its operations to TRON.
Events and New Partnerships on the TRON EcosystemTRON also announced a new partnership with Everdragons, a collectibles game of digital dragons, on which users can virtually fight against opponents to gain experience points and coins. Everdragons, is another company that migrates from the Ethereum blockchain to TRON, acknowledging TRON blockchain’s competitive advantage.
In particular, TRON utilizes the DPoS consensus mechanism that Everdragons’ representatives have identified as the most efficient, fast, and safest protocol. Additionally, it maintains high network security levels while transactions on the TRON blockchain are free.
TRON has proved to be one of the favorite blockchains for developers who build Decentralized Applications (DApps), as its Virtual Machine is fully compatible with Ethereum’s EVM. This enables developers to easily migrate their applications to TRON, offering a friendlier environment with numerous unique features.
Other notable developments on the TRON ecosystem include the launch of the TRON Accelerator and the Peking University meetup. TRON Accelerator was launched on December 1 and received great interest as more than 130 teams signed up to participate in the competition in the first five days.
Participants will work on projects such as games, DEC, Tools, Marketplace and Social, and the most outstanding projects will be presented through DApp Weekly. More than 200 Chinese students attended the meetup of the Peking University last week, where Cong Li, TRON’s developer community VP, shared his insightful takes on blockchain technologies.
