TRON Foundation Is to Dedicate niTROn Summit 2020 to Kobe Bryant
The world was thrown into mourning yesterday, Monday 27th January 2020 as popular NBA star, Kobe Bryant alongside his 13-year-old daughter and a few others died in a fatal helicopter crash in Los Angeles. This news has brought about several condolence messages and tributes from everyone around the world and one of these tributes from the crypto community has stood out.
The TRON Foundation has announced that its 2020 niTROn Summit which will hold from February 29 to March 1 will be dedicated to the NBA star who died on Sunday morning. The five-time NBA winner Bryant, who was described as a “member of the TRON family”, was to the surprise one of many on a panel discussion with the founder and CEO of TRON, Justin Sun in January 2019.
The niTRON summit which is scheduled to hold in Seoul this year is an annual event that brings together experts, investors, developers and all sorts of stakeholders and participants in the crypto industry where discussions regarding the future and developments regarding the blockchain industry are made.
In a tweet made on January 26, Tron’s CEO, Sun expressed his grief and condolences regarding the passing of the star and mentioned that a moment of silence would be taken in honor of the deceased during the niTROn conference.
Kobe, was great to have met you in niTROn 2019. Mtg you was one of my life's greatest honor & privilege, I'll forever remember us on stage discussing the future of blockchain. We'll have a moment of silence in your honor during niTROn 2020. R.I.P. pic.twitter.com/oMqU9ZpkKh

In a separate tweet made by Tron’s official handle, a picture of the late basketball legend taken with Sun at the niTRON conference last year was also posted.
Kobe Bryant, 41, the legendary basketball star who spent 20 years with the LA Lakers, passed away today.
Kobe is a member of the TRON Family. As such, we will be dedicating @niTROnSummit's festivities to his legendary life & legacy.

Justin Sun “in the News” againAgainst what might seem like respect and honor for the dead, a couple of crypto commentators have come for the CEO’s head, lambasting him for supposedly using the passing of Bryant to promote his event. While this set of people were outraged by the actions taken by Sun, others condemned these accusations and defended the actions of the CEO, stating it to be an expression of condolence and an honest gesture of respect for the dead.
It should be remembered that the NBA star was once invited to the company conference as a special guest in order to share his life experiences and thoughts to inspire young entrepreneurs and leaders.
Tron’s CEO, Sun has not been on the good side of the news lately as he was only just reported by former BitTorrent employees for alleged labor violations.
