Russian Government to Launch iMoscow Blockchain-Based IT Innovation Cluster By Summer 2019

A new blockchain-based city innovation is currently being planned by the municipal government of Moscow. This new platform will be used as an IT innovation cluster for the city and the goal will be to enable the participants to find potential business partners, as well to learn more about many topics, such as crypto equipment and products.

Moscow’s Head of the Department of Business and Innovation, Alexey Fursin, has affirmed that the people who join the platform will be even able to get financial support from the municipal government in some cases.

According to him, this new platform will be based on iMoscow, which is a navigation hub that was created by the municipal administration and it is state-supported. At the moment, iMoscow is also on the last stages of its development, so it is certain that this new IT innovation cluster will be one of the first big implementations that will put it to test.

The Approval Of The Innovation Cluster Draft Bill

This new center will be constructed after the Innovation Cluster Draft Bill was approved by the local government on February 7.

According to the official reports, the main strategic goal of the new center is to bring together the talent and businesses entities that are focused on the blockchain technology in the city. This includes several kinds of organizations like business incubators, universities, technology parks, and IT companies, as well as some other organizations.

The Department of Business and Innovation is a new municipal department that was formed from the Moscow Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Business. The change happened when the department was reorganized back in September last year.

In other related blockchain news from the country, the education regulator of Russia has decided to use the blockchain technology for the main graduation examination exam of the country, the Unified State Exam. The Ministry of Education and Science is also using technology to track natural diamonds in Russia.
