Roger Ver Talks About Bitcoin Cash Hard Fork

It is widely known that Roger Ver was one of the main names behind the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) hard fork that split BCH into BCH ABC and BCH Satoshi Vision (SV). Now, he went on a stream with Naomi Brockwell and talked about the hard fork, his break up with Craig Wright and his ideas for the future.

Roger Ver is the CEO of Bitcoin.com, the main Bitcoin and crypto site of the world. In the video, the man has talked about Bitcoin Cash and its opponent Bitcoin SV. He affirmed that a lot of people in the crypto industry had different goals in mind when thinking about Bitcoin Cash and that this was one of the main reasons that led to the fork.

He also affirmed that the attacks that the Bitcoin Cash community suffered were all linked to Bitcoin Core supporters which did not like the new token, so they made a “targetted attack” against BCH.

These differences were all relevant in leading to the fork because, after the fork, a lot of people decided that BCH should be something different and, in over a year, the community was torn and some new rivalries emerged.

The CEO of Bitcoin.com believes that, in order to have a better future, the community needs to create more assets that are useful and have less friction. According to him, they need a form of currency that does not charge a lot per transaction like Bitcoin currently does.

He stated that this is exactly that BCH is trying to do and that the “real” Bitcoin Cash (ABC) is the most decentralized and functional one from the two that forked. According to him, nothing can stop BCH from enabling people to transfer money freely around the world.

During the interview, he also took some time to criticize Charlie Lee, the founder of Litecoin, which he called “pointless”, just like he called Bitcoin SV. Looks like Bitcoin Cash is the only good crypto in the world for Roger Ver.

Ver Also Talked About His Stance On The Government And An Alleged Lawsuit

A recent lawsuit was filed against Roger Ver and Bitcoin.com, which prompted him to affirm that he was “annoyed” with it but not really worried. He also affirmed that he was not served yet, so he was not sure whether he was actually being sued or not.

The company, however, had two employees served already and it is helping them to defend in court. Ver seemed to be very annoyed with Calvin Wright, a former BCH supporter that now plays for the BSV team.

According to Ver, it is wrong to sue people because you did not like what they did with their computer software. This stance, he believes, is very anti-crypto because it takes the freedom away from the developers and it is meant to represent what cryptos were made for.

Another issue that Roger Ver talked about was that there are simply too many tokens today. According to him, the bigger is the share of a market that you can get, the greater the price will be, but the price will naturally be diminished if there are too many choices in the market.

Ver finished the interview by bashing the government. He disliked the fact that Bitcoin SV tried to be government-friendly, as he does not think that cryptos should be friendly to governments. Ver is quite anti-government himself and he suggested that governments might be the “most detrimental thing that humankind has ever invented”.

His argument cited the nuclear bombs, which “destroyed innocent people’s lives”. A rather exaggerated view, of course, as literally any society until today had a form of government.

He affirmed that he does not intend to be friendly with any government and that he is not interested in BSV at all, too. He wished them good luck, but affirmed he was simply not interested in the project.
