LiteCoin Gets a Promotional Boost on Twitter Thanks To Olympic and UFC Fighter Ben Askren

2019-2-3 19:34

Although digital assets have had their fair share of issues with recognition and legitimacy and even being termed as a Ponzi scheme, they are currently in vogue and more people are embracing the reality of digital transformation.

Celebrities too aren’t left behind and the number of crypto enthusiasts among them is increasing rapidly. They have the power to influence their audiences on and offline about the world of crypto and engage those who aren’t yet on board.

Recently UFC fighter Ben Askren, also known as “Funky” played his influencer card on Twitter. In his tweet about Litecoin (LTC), he mentioned that crypto is a necessity in everyday life. He stated that small business owners who don't want to deal with the transaction fees will choose crypto and LiteCoin.  Doing transactions on Litecoin only takes a few seconds and the transaction fee is negligible…..

In the Twitter video, the UFC champion expressed his confidence in digital assets and their usefulness. Askren also mentioned that banks and other financial institutions inflict high fees on individuals for every transaction. He even recounted a scenario where he purchased a server from someone and was required to pay for web development services.

Disapproving of how check payments were so out-of-date and the time it takes for funds to reflect on the account, Askren proceeded to talk about digital assets, particularly Litecoin.

UFC And Litecoin

LiteCoin has always existed in the world of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). It is the first cryptocurrency to be presented in any UFC events. Last month, UFC partnered with Litecoin foundation to sponsor the UFC 232 event, a match between Ben Askren and Robbie Lawler.

The UFC sponsorship was a great way to begin the year and LiteCoin Foundation looks forward to a long and fruitful relationship with the UFC.

In a bid to drive crypto adoption at UFC, The LiteCoin (LTC) logo was also featured on the canvas of the UFC 232 octagon in Inglewood, California. This was a great deal because the venue housed more than 80,000 people which were an opportunity to spread the word and market Litecoin to the viewers.

Litecoin also intends to have more of such partnerships in the future.

Summary

The start of 2019 has been characterized by the struggle to retain price gains in the market. Litecoin has benefited from a boost in popularity thanks to Ben Askren.

Following Askren’s tweet from Las Vegas where he was attending a conference, Litecoin became a trend. In actual fact searches for Litecoin on Google had reached its highest. It’s a step towards publicizing cryptocurrency and making it more familiar to the people at large.

LiteCoin seems to have found a home in the UFC and a majority of the mixed martial artist’s followers on his Twitter base seem to agree with his opinion on the crypto asset.
