ICON's new collaboration will see the company work with one of the leading blockchain companies in Japan (LayerX). As such, ICON's MOU seeks to expand the protocol's Japanese developer community as well as grow the integrity of the ICON network by establishing a code audit alliance.
LayerX's CEO, Yoshinori Fukushima, praised the new joint venture and ascertained his company's support in expanding ICON's activities.
“LayerX is very excited to form a partnership with the ICON foundation, which has achieved an impressive track record in the blockchain industry. ICON's core engine, ‘loopchain' has been used to develop a blockchain authentication system and is already adopted by major securities firms and the insurance industry. We expect it to be utilized in Japan as well, and we will support ICON's activities in Japan on the technical front.”
Further details on the partnership and MOU indicate that ICON and LayerX seek to grow the adoption of SCORE, the smart contract implementation environment on ICON. The two companies will co-host demo days, hackathons, and conferences in a bid to accelerate adoption of ICON's technology. Both will also cooperate to expand the ICON's global communities, in and outside of Japan.
While commenting on the partnership investment, J.H Kim, a council member of ICON Foundation said:
“ICON Foundation is pleased to cooperate with LayerX, a leading company with technological capabilities in Japan. Through our partnership with LayerX, we expect various ICON DApp services to further expand their global presence based on the linkage between public blockchain and enterprise blockchain in the future.”
Further details reveal that LayerX, as a partner of ICX station, will work to enhance the security level of the ICON platform plus apps by providing a code audit. The ICX station Is ICON's global accelerator program established in cities including Seoul, and San Francisco.
However, the move is just one of the few efforts evident of ICON's determination to expand its blockchain ecosystem while still supporting DApps development through partnerships. Back in May, it was ICON who co-founded ‘UnChain' in a joint-partnership with Line Plus. Now, ICON is creating synergies for structuring LINE's blockchain Mainnet and its DApp services.
What is ICON?THE ICON Foundation consists of an extensive network of highly regarded enterprise and software solutions based on the blockchain.
The firm provides the services to a wide variety of clients including learning institutions, insurance providers and even banks.
