RIP Backgammon — Microsoft to shutter its Internet Games service by next year
Pour one out for another gaming legend we’re losing. Microsoft revealed last week it’s no longer supporting its suite of Internet Games that have been a staple of Windows for 19 years. Google’s Game Builder lets you create 3D titles without coding — for free!
On its blog today, Google talked up Game Builder, its sandbox for desktops that lets you create 3D games without having to write any code (though you can if you want to). It’s available now on Steam, for Mac and Windows, for free. дальше »

Cuphead is coming to Teslas and I pity the drivers
Over the weekend, Elon Musk revealed to IGN reporter Ryan McCaffrey on a podcast that Tesla would be porting indie platformer Cuphead, of all games, to work in its cars. It can only be played via a USB gamepad and, given which game we’re talking about, I fully expect to see several of them launched out of the windows of Teslas. дальше »

Steam vulnerability exposed users to account hijacking and malware
A vulnerability in Valve‘s Steam platform made it possible for malicious actors to take over user accounts, pilfer their items, and even infect their systems with additional malware. The security kink resided in Steam‘s server browser functionality – which lets players look up severs for a number of games (including hit titles like CS:GO, Half-Life 2, and Team Fortress 2) – according to a HackerOne vulnerability disclosure made public on March 15. дальше »
