The second largest stock exchange in Germany, Boerse Stuttgart, is taking yet another step to make its mark in the world of cryptocurrencies. The exchange has plans to create a new platform that will feature initial coin offerings (ICOs) and provide multilateral trading opportunities to investors looking to get hold of this new asset class.
What Is the New ICO All About?Bison, the exchange’s app that allows the public no-fee access to multilateral and regulated crypto investments, will meet another platform that provides quick access to ICOs. It will allow the issue of crypto tokens that could either be used to finance corporates or represent assets or rights of the buyers/holders.
Boerse CEO Alexander Hoptner said:
“At the trading venue tokens issued via our ICO platform can be traded on the secondary market. This is an important success factor for ICOs. At the same time, we are responding to demand from both retail and institutional investors for a regulated and reliable environment for trading with cryptocurrencies.”
The new platform will also support popular digital currencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. It will also provide custody services to the users. Hoptner hopes that they can offer central services and a value chain for digital assets, all together, on this platform.

Soon after, it acquired a local start-up working on data analytics, Sowa Labs. The same company is building the exchange’s Bison app. The start-up then published a small study on 1,000 people, which showed that people want an easier way to access the digital currency markets. It also reported that Bison intends to do exactly that.
Previously, it was reported that the exchange generated 5.4-billion turnover last month. It is interesting to note that while equity trading amounts for 1.2 billion of order book turnover, securitized derivatives brought in 2.4 billion euros. In fact, even leverage products helped the exchange earn 1.4 billion during the month.
