Two journalists – Jen Poyant and Manoush Zomorodi – previous working with New York Radio have parted ways with their employer, creating their own podcast that focuses on promoting blockchain.
“Zig Zag” is now the main attention of WNYC broadcasters, a podcast now going to its 2nd season, mainly focusing on blockchain and its benefits for journalism. WYNC is a set of call letters as well as a trademark shared by two of non-profit public stations based in the New York City, and owned by the New York Public Radio.
Although the two journalists left WYNC wanting to establish something of their own, they stated that they had been motivated further by the trending #MeToo campaign against sexual harassment. The station they were working for had cut ties with all male hosts who had left following accusations of harassment by employees working at the station.
