Justin Sun, CEO and founder of Tron seems to be succeeding in his strife to subdue Ethereum in the Dapp industry. In response to his several solicitations for developers to move their projects from Ethereum blockchain to Tron, Bitguild, a decentralized blockchain gaming platform, is in the process of migrating its gaming dapp Bitizens to Tron blockchain.
In a notice by the team of developers, users of the Bitizens games have been asked to exercise patience while the migration is completed. During this period, the game will be offline and so not accessible. Part of the announcement read:
“We hope you understand that this endeavor will ultimately lead to a better, stronger and more vibrant future for BitGuild and its community. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we’re looking forward to resuming full operations as soon as possible.”
Tron has been a major force in dapp development with an increasing capacity for more. In a bid to further encourage developers to build dapps and smart contracts on the network, The company has future pans accelerate the dapp building on its blockchain. It also plans to improve privacy for users with the zk-SNARKS privacy protocol.
Compared to Ethereum, Tron is 80 faster and has a much higher processing power of 2000 transaction per second, translating to a higher daily transaction volume. Ethereum also historically has problems with a slow network when dapp transaction volume exceeds a certain threshold, making its processing capacity for dapps limited.
This explains why not only Bitguild but many other projects might migrate to Tron network in the future, although it might also have to do with the fact that Tron’s Justin Sun is on Bitguild’s board of advisers.
Although the entire cryptocurrency market has been through hard times this year, Ethereum has gotten much worse. First, XRP replaced it in the second spot moving it to the third and hopes of taking back its position are quite low.
Secondly, it has just descended below the $100 resistance and now trading at $98.51 which is one of the few times this has happened in the year. Could it have something to do with the Bitguild migration?
Meanwhile, Tron (TRX) recently moved to become the tenth largest cryptocurrency in the world. This ascent is highly deserved by the company seeing it has made so much effort to develop its network to accommodate developers. Will the Bitguild migration be the start of a series of migrations or will it be a one-time event?
