Crypto Clash Happens Between AtomicPay’s Services And Vertbase Over False Trademark Ordeal

A Cryptocurrency Payment Startup Claims It Is A Victim Of A Prank That Run Over The Weekend; This Was For A Fake Trademark Claim

The AtomicPay.io, which is a cryptocurrency payment processor had a small hiccup as their front end services were unavailable for about 8 hours over the weekend, this was all due to a trademark claim that was made by Vertbase.

The Vertbase Company And The AtomicPay.io Platform

The company has been established as a money service provider that has been selling crypto coins, as for the AtomicPay it has been established a non-custodial for use in crypto payment solutions for the different merchants in the market.

Benz Rif, who’s is the CEO recently went for an interview on CNN, he went ahead to inform his viewers that he had experienced some problems with the cloud infrastructure provider that they have been using, the Digital Ocean, and he also went ahead to make a statement on the episode.

Could It Be A Hostage Taking Sales Kind Of Tactic? The Vertbase Company Tried To Sell The AtomicPay.com To The AtomicPay.io Company

The Digital Ocean platform went ahead to say that the AtomicPay.io had started violating the trademark that was owned by the Vertbase platform. But in actual sense, the Vertbase company did not have such a trademark with them, and they did not even tell Digital Ocean that they did. Rather what they did is notifying the Digital Ocean last November that they are planning to fill on a similar trademark.

The company owns the AtomicPay.com, and they are fully aware the AtomicPay.io was being hosted in the Digital Ocean platform.

There were some screenshots that were made available to the CNN team, and according to these the CEO of Vertbase, Justin Seidl had gone ahead to offer to sell the AtomicPay.com domain to the AtomicPay.io company in early January.

Recently the AtomicPay.io went ahead to fill for a trademark of the AtomicPay, and once they get this trademark, Vertbase will not be able to have the legal ownership of the AtomicPay.com domain. So what this will initially mean is that all that the Vertbase company will be able to get from the AtomicPay.com domain is what it initially cost them to register it. In the complaint that was made Stuart Menzies goes ahead to call the AtomicPay.io platform a scam and that it is actually violating the set trademark in different fonts.

How You Can Get A Crypto Payment Provider Offline Easily

A few weeks after Justin Seidl went ahead to send an email to AtomicPay of offering a possible collaboration in selling the AtomicPay.com, the Digital Ocean went ahead to take down the AtomicPay.io website. This was due to the valid DMCA complaint that was made.

Ben Rif goes on to say that the very first time that he had of this complaint it was coupled by several threats that their services will be frozen.

Unfortunately, the company did not have the needed time to adequately back their database, so the move that was made by the Digital Ocean made the AtomicPay.io be unusable by their merchants for several hours. It is claimed that there was a mix up in the address that was used to send the original notice that came from Digital Ocean. It is clear the Vertbase, and Digital Ocean are the subject to the legal action that has been taken by the AtomicPay company.
