Coinbase, US-based the crypto exchange recently announced in a blog post that it had completed GBP rollout for all its UK customers. This removes the customers’ dependency on US dollars or Euros to trade in cryptocurrencies. It also eliminates one step from the crypto trading experience, making it simpler and easier. GBP support is live for both Pro and Prime customers.

UK CEO at Coinbase Zeeshan Feroz announced in the blog:

“Domestic GBP payments, in most cases, will take less than 30 minutes to transfer in and out of your account. You’ll not only benefit from increased speed but reduced costs as well. By no longer having to convert funds from British Pound to Euros and vice versa, you’ll avoid exchange rates and additional fees for foreign currency transactions.”

Feroz also said that all UK customers had received the GBP update by now. If somebody is in the UK and hasn’t received the rollover yet, it is most likely because of his location settings. As soon as the Coinbase account country is set to the UK, the changes will reflect in the user’s accounts.

Things are changing quickly at Coinbase. The exchange has garnered FCA license to strengthen its presence in the UK. It recently launched a new asset listing framework and also added support for Ethereum Classic. It also redesigned and rebranded its wallet from Toshi to Coinbase Wallet.

It recently announced Coinbase Bundle as well. It is a new service that lets users buy a market-weighted selection of cryptocurrencies available on Coinbase. The platform currently offers five digital coins for transactions. It also launched Coinbase Learn, an educational initiative geared toward helping newbie investors understand the crypto market better.

Some reports also claim that after custodian services, the exchange could also look forward to launching a crypto exchange-traded fund. The new developments at the company suggest that Coinbase is not letting the bear market stop it from reaching its goals. It wants to establish itself as a premier crypto platform.
