XRP Tip Bot Creator Started With XRP After Viewing Ripple CTO Interview
CRP Tip Bot’s creator, called Vietse Wind, was part of a discussion on the 51percent Crypto Research podcast. Therein, he discussed his interest in XRP and how he began in the crypto space and was ultimately inspired to develop the Tip Bot.
Wietse stated that he entered the space in 2010 or 2011, at a point where there was not a great deal of hype. He learned about blockchain technology when mining on his own. He stated,
“And then it wasn’t until 2016 when I saw an interview of David Schwartz, Ripple’s CTO, and thought it was kind of interesting. So I looked into the technology and noticed it was really easy to get started with if you are a web developer or someone who programs in his space time or knows some JavaScript.”
He began creating his own code and sharing open source.
He also discussed that he is impressed with XRP, more so than with any other cryptocurrency due to the underlying technology. He stated that it is simple for web-developers to create real-word applications. He also added,
“I think a few things are really important for both developers and the users. It needs to be fast, it needs to be cheap. It needs to be easy to implement the technology in apps, but also in browsers, which is well really the core of CRP.”
Wietse continued that when it comes to XRP, the user does not need to download the blockchain’s history for interactions. The lack of dependency allows for one to connect and start reading and sending messages and transacting. He also noted that there are other cryptocurrencies that have other functionalities like XRO’s, but they have longer transaction times as well.
