Wachsman, a leading global communications and strategy consultancy serving the blockchain, fintech, and emerging tech industry, today announced new additions to its global executive team, headlined by the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Managing Directors for EMEA and Americas.
Wachsman added to its C-suite with the appointment of Marcello Fregulia as Chief Financial Officer. Fregulia has more than 25 years of experience running finance and operations for media and professional services firms. Prior to Wachsman, Fregulia served as CFO for Ketchum North America, where he served as senior management at one of the top-5 largest agencies globally. In his new role, Fregulia will have global management responsibilities for treasury, financial operations, and growth strategy.
Liam Murphy was appointed Managing Director of Wachsman EMEA following a successful four-year run of senior roles in Wachsman’s Dublin office. Murphy was a critical force in establishing Wachsman’s presence in the region. During this time, he was responsible for advising many of the world’s most successful and consequential blockchain enterprises. An award-winning marketing and communications leader, Murphy brings a deep understanding of communications, policy, and regulatory affairs, having served as a Policy Advisor at the UK Cabinet Office and a Communications Advisor at the European Commission.
“In five years, we’ve gone from a bootstrapped startup to the leading communications and strategy consultancy serving the most exciting sector on Earth,” said David Wachsman, CEO and Founder, Wachsman. “At Wachsman, our client portfolio companies have experienced unparalleled growth, demanding an influx of world-class talent. This class of new senior appointments, dedicated to contributing to the mainstream evolution and adoption of next-generation technologies, demonstrates our position as a destination for top talent. ”
Wachsman’s market share in the Americas has grown in 2021 under the leadership of new Managing Director, Jeremy Berrington, who joined in January following senior roles at MSL and W2O. Shortly after Berrington’s appointment, the Americas team recruited FleishmanHillard alum, Stephanie Lynch, as its new Head of Marketing. Lynch’s mandate is to deliver world-class multichannel programming to clients spanning paid advertising, digital/social media, influencer relations, and online search.
The Americas expansion has included the creation of a standalone Earned Media Team co-led by Hugh Naylor and Murtaza Hussain, veterans of leading media properties including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Intercept. Wachsman Americas has been further empowered with the addition of Edelman and MSL veteran, Silvia Osante, who joined Wachsman as Director.
“Wachsman’s brand is based on the notion of Fearlessness,” said Danny Phan, Chief Strategy Officer, Wachsman. “We believe working here is a meaningful experience because our team members have a real opportunity to shape the future of business and society through our work in the blockchain sector and beyond. That’s not a proposition every employer can offer prospective recruits.”
Newly appointed Director at Wachsman APAC, Chin Ann Ho, also joins a global leadership team that includes Directors Alex Sheehan in Singapore and Alex Corp in Dublin.
