Vitalik Buterin Receives Honorary Doctorate From University of Basel

Vitalik Buterin, the co-creator of the Ethereum blockchain,has received an honorary doctorate by the University of Basel. A recent announcement was made on Twitter.
Now known as Dr. Buterin, he received the award from the Faculty of Business and Economics of the university because of his groundbreaking work with the blockchain technology. The ceremony was made today in Died Academicus, a local celebration of the college.
The dean of the business faculty, Professor Aleksander Berentsen, affirmed that what Buterin was able to make with the Ethereum blockchain was something absolutely game-changing for the whole market and that both science and industry will end up following his steps of innovation.
He also affirmed that Vitalik Buterin had an interest in governance issues, economy and game theory that was shared by the university and that he would always be welcome there.
At the ceremony, Vitalik has affirmed that he was very honored to receive the award from the University of Basel, which is the oldest university in Switzerland, a country that is well-known for its innovative blockchain research in this decade.
