The Tron Foundation and Justin Sun have been in the news multiple times over the past few weeks, with several updates and developments fueling the company’s plans to attain mass adoption. The sheer number of developments from Tron [TRX] seems to have paid off with Tronscan reporting that the block height of Tron exceeded 8 million on 3 April. The tweet from Tronscan read,
“Breaking News! According to the latest data from #TRONSCAN, block height of TRON has exceeded 8 million on April 3. TRON ecosystem has developed rapidly and continues to make efforts to build the #decentralized internet. #TRON $TRX @Tronfoundation @justinsuntron”
The number of nodes online was registered at 1172, while the block height settled at 8048536. The organization, which had recently celebrated the number of active accounts hitting 2 million, had another reason to rejoice as the number of accounts was clocked at 2.34 million.
Tron had breached the 4 million mark in terms of block height four months ago, when the number of active accounts was 588,048. The Tron blockchain, like any other conventional model, has a series of blocks where the first block is called the genesis block. This specific block has a block height of zero and any block stores data units which contain the requisite information for a transaction to take place. After the new record announcement, Guido Janssen, a cryptocurrency enthusiast inquired,
“Will Tronscan list the rebranded Reyna token, now Iseri IRC token? It’s a big scam!”
Tron was in the news previously after the Tron Foundation informed users about Tron Decentralized Application [DApp] promotions in Japan. During the announcement, the Justin Sun-led company stated that Tron was “now one of the biggest” dApps platforms due to the number of developments occurring on the blockchain. The report from Tron further added,
“TRON has been striving to promote blockchain technology and diversify DAPPs on its platform while adhering to local laws and regulations across the globe.”
