The Tron blockchain has millions of users already, thanks to its recent innovations and acquisitions. Since the blockchain shifted to its mainnet, the primary goal of the Tron team has been to create a smart-contract-based decentralized application (DApp) ecosystem. The Tron Virtual Machine (TVM) was also launched in August this year. Taking one step further into this journey, it announced the launch of its all-in-one suite for developers that will make DApp creation and deployment easier on the network.
What Will the Toolset Include? In a blog post announcing the suite, Tron said:
“This is an exciting time for TRON as the company officially enters the beginning of the Smart Contract Era. TRON will be 200x faster vs. ETH, 100x cheaper vs. EOS. dApp developers & users, this one is for you!”
Four primary tools are included in the new suite — TronGrid, TronWeb, TronStudio, and TronBox. Developers can now create real and functioning DApps on the Tron network with new tools.
What Do the Tools Do?TronWeb is designed to connect developers to the Tron blockchain. It helps in creating a unified development experience and carries significant influences from Web3, an Ethereum-native tool. The implementation of the tool, however, is different on Tron. It requires a Full Node, as well as a Solidity Node running on HTTP API to function. The tool can be used to buy, send, and freeze or unfreeze TRX or other tokens in the ecosystem.
TronStudio comes embedded with a TVM and works like a comprehensive IDE that creates a private local environment where developers can test their smart contracts predeployment.
TronBox is a framework that lets developers test and deploy smart contracts using the TronWeb API. The two tools are similar to each other, with one difference — TronStudio allows developers to work on Solidity smart contracts in a more user-friendly ecosystem.
The final tool is TronGrid, similar to Ethereum’s Infura, which lets developers access the Tron network, who can use it to build and release their smart contracts and DApps. It includes a load balanced and hosted API service on the cloud, so developers don’t have to run their own nodes. It offers Shasta, an alternative test network, to developers.
Aside from the launch of the suite, Tron mainnet version 3.1 was pushed on Oct. 8, after which Super Representative CryptoGuyInZA presented Proposition 1 to activate TVM on the new version. After community consensus is achieved, TVM will be activated on the mainnet, which will help developers in deploying their smart contracts.
