Solana (SOL) has become one of the fastest-growing blockchains in 2024, as developers take advantage of its fast transaction speeds and lower transaction costs. It is the second-biggest player in the Decentralised Finance (DeFi) industry after Ethereum while its DEX platforms like Raydium, Orca, and Jupiter have become giants 

Solana has also become a top network for meme coin creators. Dogwifhat (WIF) launched earlier this year on Solana, has become the fourth-biggest meme coin in the industry with a market cap of over $3.3 billion.

Bonk, which became popular in 2023 has also continued growing, giving it a market cap of over $2.3 billion. Book of Meme (BOME) is valued at over $906 million while Cat in a Dogs World (MEW) has attained a valuation of over $381 million.

Other fast-growing Solana meme coins like Poppcat, Ponke, and Myro have continued to gain market share in the industry.

These tokens have done well because of the rising demand for assets in Solana’s ecosystem. The same is happening in other industries like gaming, liquid staking, tokenisation, and decentralised public infrastructure networks (DePIN).

Second, Solana has stronger features than Ethereum. It can handle thousands of transactions per second while Ethereum can process less than 50. Its cost of handling transactions is significantly lower than Ethereum. As such, meme coin holders can save money when doing transactions.

Piggy Bankster ($PIG) aims to become the next big thing in the Solana ecosystem as it seeks to start its token sale on June 4th. Unlike other token sales, PIG wll offer a fair sale, meaning that all of its 100 million tokens will be available on day one. The token sale will start at $0.00012 while the initial liquidity will be $12,000.

The meme coin aims to start a new movement in the meme coin industry by launching a pig-themed token. This has been a popular approach in the past. Dogecoin and Shiba Inu popularised dog-themed meme coins while Pepe became a big frog-themed token. 

Popcat and Cat in a Dogs World have become popular cat tokens while Coq Inu has represented chickens well.
