The Singapore FinTech Association (SFA) hosted the Singapore FinTech Awards 2020 last evening to celebrate the individuals and corporates who have made extraordinary contributions to the vibrant FinTech industry in Singapore in the past year.
Powered by PwC, this is the second edition of the awards and shines the spotlight on those who have helped to strengthen Singapore’s position as a global FinTech hub. A grand total of 26 individuals and organisations were presented awards across four categories, for their instrumental contributions towards the Singapore FinTech ecosystem during the event night.
Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment graced the evening as the Guest-of-Honour, where she announced the launch of SFA’s Green and Sustainable FinTech sub-committee – which aims to bring the FinTech ecosystem together to focus on green initiatives.
Other invited guests included His Excellency Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye, High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda, Mr Leong Sing Chiong, Deputy Managing Director for Markets and Development, Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Mr Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief FinTech Officer, MAS and Mr Patrick Tay, Assistant Secretary-General, NTUC and Elected Member of Parliament, Pioneer SMC.
The event also witnessed Guest-of-Honour Ms Grace Fu officiating the opening of the SG FinTech Gallery located at 80RR FinTech Hub SG. The SG FinTech Gallery aims to reflect Singapore’s unique FinTech journey as a B2B hub and B2C gateway to Southeast Asia, bringing together various FinTech communities to foster and inspire a purposeful, inclusive and sustainable FinTech movement.
