The increasing popularity of cryptocurrencies has led to several businesses adopting digital payments for effectiveness, quick transaction, and lower costs. Now HackerOne, a security platform that allows companies to find software vulnerabilities through bug bounty programs, has implemented BitPay on its system. The largest global blockchain payment provider will now help the platform process Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash payments.
New Client Payment MechanismEstablished in 2012, HackerOne allows the global community of security experts and hackers to help its clients like Starbucks, Lufthansa, General Motors and Spotify find issues with their software systems before they are exploited by cybercriminals. Till date, the platform has grown into the largest community of security experts who have been awarded over $35 million in prizes for finding more than 80,000 security vulnerabilities.
On introducing blockchain-based asset payments into their platform, the chief financial officer and chief operating officer of HackerOne, Ning Want, said:
“Many of our customers have come to rely on making payments in cryptocurrency as it is quickly becoming a popular payment method. It was important for us to continue to offer Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash to our customers, and we can do that through BitPay.”
Faster International PaymentsPayments made via Bitcoin help in reducing friction, as well as the time taken to make an international payment. On the other hand, Bitcoin Cash acts as a faster alternative to the Bitcoin Core network.
BitPay will help in making HackerOne receive international payments faster than before. These transactions can also be completed for a cost lower than a conventional bank wire payment. Customers can make BitPay cross-border payments with a one percent transaction fee, and payment confirmation is received within one business day. The new mechanism will also help in reducing fraud and other risks in cross-border payments. Accuracy and transparency are also guaranteed with cryptographic assets.
Commenting on the new payment mechanism, Sonny Singh, BitPay’s chief commercial officer, said:
“Using Bitcoin, HackerOne is now able to safely accept payments from clients in Asia, Africa and Latin America that would have been nearly impossible before.”
Singh also noted that HackerOne has a reputation for product innovation, and Bitcoin payment integration into the system is an example of the same.
