Samsung Unveils New Gadgets: Note Phones, Tablets and Noise-Cancelling Earbuds

South Korea’s leading smartphone maker, Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (KRX: 005930), on Wednesday unveiled its latest tech devices to compete with other global smartphone companies. The company showed its new gadgets such as phones, a new smartwatch, two high-end tablets, and bean-shaped noise-canceling earbuds. The event was virtually held due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that has infected over 18 million globally and killed over 690,000 people since it was first reported in China late last year.

With the market metrics indicating a sharp decline in global smartphone shipments since the beginning of the year, smartphone companies are rushing to stay relevant and ahead of their competitors. Samsung is presumably miles ahead of Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) that is yet to even launch devices supporting 5G network leave alone devices to compete with the latest Samsung gadgets. However, with the card still hidden, Apple might greatly surprise the market with a huge leap from its previous generation smartphones. With the technology advancement leading to AI and augmented reality, it is expected that new devices will feature some of these technologies.

Into Details of Latest Samsung Gadgets

The highlight of the event was the new generation Note smartphones that are anticipated to match with the latest S-20 generation. The new Note20 and Note20 Ultra, boast screens that are 6.7 and 6.9 inches across, respectively. Additionally, they both come with 120Hz screen capabilities. The Note20 with 5G will cost $999, and Note20 Ultra with 5G will go for $1,299.

On the list was the Samsung wireless earbuds that are bean-shaped and small. The striking feature is their 6-hour play capability of its battery, besides, its active noise canceling feature. They’ll start at $169 and will be available on August 6.

Samsung also unveiled a new version of their smartwatch, which comes either 41mm or 45mm in size. It has capabilities to take biometric of the owner, however not as accurate as the medical ones. The two watches start at $399 or $429 and will be available on August 6 as well.

The company also launched the latest Android tablet with striking features that compete fiercely with Apple’s iPad latest version. The two tablets, the Tab S7 and S7+, are dabbed the finest in their class. The smaller Tab S7 with 5G will cost $849, and the Tab S7+ with 5G will be priced at $1,049, however, a 5G version is available for both for $200 more than a Wi-Fi-only version.
