On Wednesday, August 5, South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics Co Ltd (KRX: 005930) released a range of new smart devices including two Galaxy smartphones, a new smartwatch, and two tablets. The announcement comes as per Samsung’s usual timing of releasing new products in August.

Samsung unveils its two new ‘Note’ series handsets – Galaxy Note 20 and the Note 20 Ultra. As expected, both these high-end handsets feature-rich and powerful hardware. Both the smartphones come with Samsung’s native stylus called “S Pen”. The S Pen also gets new updates like increased responsiveness and precision. Both the handsets offer support for 5G connectivity. While the 5G technology is currently in its nascent stage, the Note 20 users would still be able to leverage faster speeds 3-4 years from now. Samsung aims to take its foldable series handsets to the next level. Having sold over 1 million units with its Galaxy Fold, Samsung now brings the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The second version brings improvements in terms of upgraded hinges, reinforced screens, and a larger front screen.

Along with the main foldable 7.6-inch screen, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 expands significantly to 6.2 inches. The smartphone will be available in two colors – Mystic Bronze and Mystic Black. In the official press release, Samsung wrote:

“After releasing two foldable devices and listening to user feedback on the most requested upgrades and new features, Samsung unveils the Galaxy Z Fold 2 with meaningful innovations that offer users enhanced refinements and unique foldable user experiences.”

Apart from the handsets, Samsung also unveiled two tablets – the Galaxy Tab S7 and the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus. These two handsets are powered by Google’s Android operating system and come with 5G connectivity support. Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 is here with beastly specs and no headphone jack

Right on cue, Samsung has officially revealed the Galaxy Note 10, and for the first time in the note series, an even larger ‘Plus’ model. Granted, ‘Revealed’ might be a bit of a strong word given how much we’d learned about the devices going into today’s Galaxy Unpacked event, but it’s nonetheless welcome to have some real confirmation.

Leak: First unofficial Note 10 renders show off Samsung’s refreshed aesthetic

Considering Samsung usually reveals its Galaxy Note devices in the fall or late summer, it was about time we started to see some proper leaks of the upcoming Note 10. But while I was expecting essentially a Galaxy S10 with a bigger screen and a stylus, the first renders of the Note 10 and Note 10 Pro (Samsung is supposedly releasing two Notes this time) appear to suggest a new design language altogether.
