Samsung Appoints Enjin to Back its Galaxy S10 Blockchain Wallet

Recently, the tech giant Samsung introduced its new Galaxy S10 line. The key feature of new smartphones, apart from Dynamic AMOLED display, new camera technology, and 5G Connectivity, is crypto support. Before the launch, everybody expected Samsung to integrate an in-built crypto wallet into its new Galaxy S10. Instead, the company presented a private key storage solution, which Samsung followers could use for mobile services based on the blockchain, without mentioning integration of a crypto wallet.

The company said:

“Galaxy S10 is built with defense-grade Samsung Knox, as well as a secure storage backed by hardware, which houses your private keys for blockchain-enabled mobile services.”

Later, we reported more details concerning the smartphone’s crypto support. Each user has private keys that are stored in the S10’s Keystore are backed up in a personal account provided by Samsung. In case the smartphone is lost or stolen, users can access the device and delete the private key through its Find My Mobile service. Further, if a private key is accidentally deleted, users can restore it via the service.

Recently, anonymous sources provided a new piece of information. As Asia Crypto Today has reported, South Korean crypto company Enjin Wallet was appointed by Samsung to back a blockchain wallet in Galaxy S10 smartphone.

Enjin is one of the leading protocols in the blockchain-based gaming landscape that enables developers to efficiently deploy technology-based games. Despite the project is often overshadowed by more popular blockchain networks, the presence of Enjin Coin on the Samsung Blockchain Wallet is sufficient indeed for Enjin to step out of the shade.

As a leaked image of the Samsung Galaxy S10 above shows, the Enjin Wallet is used for Ethereum (ETH) transactions. Moreover, as we’ve already noted, the image demonstrates capabilities for Enjin Coin (ENJ) and Basic Attention Token (BAT).

Enjin Wallet is currently one of the simplest and most secure mobile cryptocurrency wallets. It supports Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and ERC-20, ERC-721, and ERC-1155 tokens used to purchase and sell digital items in video games, establishing digital ownership. The wallet is now available for free download from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store on iOS and Android.

Meanwhile, despite neither Enjin or Samsung have released any official statement confirming the partnership between the two organizations, Enjin logo was featured as a partner during Samsung Mobile Business Development Summit. This speaks for itself, isn’t it?
