2018-10-19 11:25

A Russian IP startup has recently signed a memorandum with officials from Uzbek capital Tashkent to integrate the blockchain technology in its copyrights platform. Andrey Krichevsky, the Russian National Intellectual Property Transactions Coordination Center (IPChain) has met with the head of Tashkent’s department of innovation, Jasur Zakhidov, in Moscow.

The two decided to start the partnership this week and to use decentralized solutions to protect copyright in many areas like intellectual property and patent records.

Mainly, this program will initially start by digitalizing Tashkent’s patent records and will continue from there. The company already has some similar projects going on and this will be similar to them.

The goal of the partnership is to find some way to develop a copyright sphere and turn it into something profitable, which Zakhidov believes that is something that most scientists are not used of doing.

Zakhidov believes that the partnership can give an impetus for the whole industry in a way that it will be easier to create copyright that actually works and can profitable at the same time, which could show authors new ways to get money.

Shavkat Mirzioyiyevm, the president of Uzbek, has recently taken many steps to promote the blockchain technology like signing a document to enable the digital economics development and creating a program that will help the blockchain to be introduced until 2020. Last month, the president has ordered a state blockchain fund called Digital Trust to be created.
