RSK Labs Launches Decentralized App Infrastructure Platform

RSK Labs launched a new decentralized app (Dapp) development service this past week. The service provides programmers with a variety of tools to build decentralized application.

RSK Labs aims to provide developers with the infrastructure they need to create apps in one convenient location.

RSK Labs is the developer in charge of the Rootstock (RSK) project, which is a Turing-complete smart contract sidechain pegged 1:1 with BTC. The RSK platform’s virtual machine (VM) is also backwards-compatible with the Ethereum VM, which adds greater functionality to the system.

Over the past few months, however, the RSK Labs team has improved their project by leaps and bounds. In February, for example, RSK Labs mined its genesis block, officially initiating the launch of the RSK ecosystem. Then, in spring 2018, RSK Labs co-founder Gabriel Kurman revealed that the sidechain was now secured by 1 in 10 BTC miners.

Today, RSK Labs has expanded its service even further with its decentralized app development platform. As reported by news.bitcoin.com, the new RSK Labs Dapp development service allows developers to create Dapps without installing the necessary infrastructure. Programmers can access the components they need to build Dapps without getting bogged down in infrastructure requirements – like Jaxx integration, Bamboo Version 0.4.4, or other tedious installations.

Developers can access the new RSK Labs Dapp infrastructure service here on Github. There are two public nodes available for testing, including a testnet and mainnet. The nodes support 26 JSON remote procedure call (RPC) methods.

Programmers are free to install, compile, and run their own RSK nodes as well – say, if they don’t want to use the public developer service.

The Dapp infrastructure platform follows the RSK Bamboo release v0.4.4. Key improvements in that update included reduced block processing and blockchain synchronization times.

The RSK Labs sidechain has become increasingly feature-rich over the past few months. The RSK token called the Smart Bitcoin (SBTC), for example, now has a wallet thanks to a partnership with Jaxx.io. Jaxx users can store, send, and receive their SBTC using the light client.

The launch of the new Dapp infrastructure platform will enhance the functionality of the RSK sidechain even further. In conjunction with the Jaxx SBTC wallet, RSK developers can use SBTCs in their platform builds.

RSK Labs is making it easy to develop decentralized blockchain-based apps. This latest Dapp infrastructure development service makes it even easier.
