Robinhood announced on April 27 a new feature that will allow users to access the trading platform’s cryptocurrency features from external applications.
The company’s official press release says that the feature will first be added to two crypto wallets — the Solana wallet Phantom and the multi-coin wallet Exodus. The feature will be extended to other applications in future months, Robinhood says.
Robinhood’s press release suggests that Robinhood Connect will allow users to fund their Web3 wallets while using other dApps and without logging into their Robinhood Crypto account. “Customers will be able to access their Robinhood credentials and bypass additional steps,” the announcement reads.
Separate reports from Fortune suggest that the Connect feature will allow users to trade assets through Robinhood’s cryptocurrency exchange.
Robinhood launched its non-custodial (or self-custodied) iOS wallet to select users in January 2023 and extended the app’s availability in March 2023.
