San Francisco based blockchain company Ripple is partnering with the Institute for Fintech Research, Tsinghua University (THUIFR) to launch a new Blockchain Technology Research Scholarship Program (BRSP).
The scholarship will be available to top graduate students in China in 2019.
Focusing on Blockchain TechThe THUIFR was jointly established by PBC School of Finance, Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences, School of Software and Law School at Tsinghua University in 2017.
TUIFR is dedicated to providing practical guidance and world-class research to the fintech industry in China.
The BPSR scholarship program will focus on the development of blockchain tech and international regulatory policies.
Students inducted into the program will be working on leading-edge research on global policies and regulations related to blockchain technology.
They will also get an opportunity to participate in various events and corporate visits.
According to Ivy Gao, Director of International Cooperation and Development, THUIFR:
“BRSP aims to help students have a comprehensive view of the latest international regulations on blockchain technology, and most importantly, I believe, this program would greatly help with their future research or career in the field of blockchain technology.”
Ripple Supports the ProgramRipple is working with several leading universities across the globe via its University Blockchain Research Initiative.
Through this effort, the company plans to accelerate and support academic research, innovation and technical development in cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and digital payments sectors.
Ripple’s Emi Yoshikawa shared the news about the THUIFR collaboration on her Twitter profile, noting that Ripple will help in developing the next generation of blockchain talent in China.

The company’s SVP of Global Operations, Eric van Miltenburg said that Ripple is impressed with the Tsinghua University’s innovative approach to engaging the youth leaders of China in the DLT space.
He added:
“The program’s goal – to provide students with opportunities in blockchain research – closely aligns with that of Ripple’s University Blockchain Research Initiative; we’re thrilled to support THUIFR in this endeavor and look forward to its launch.”
