The Gibraltar Blockchain Exchange is a place where consumers can exchange cryptocurrency and get into the marketplace for initial coin offerings (ICOs). Now, the Digital Asset Exchange is adding to their lineup with EOS, the token of EOS.IO.
EOS.IO is a protocol that is based in blockchain but is powered by cryptocurrency. They launched the EOS token in 2017, but it has not maintained a high price for long. Though it has reached as high as $18, it has also dodged below $0.80.
In today’s statement on the subject, Sponsor Firm Iconiq Holding is responsible for moving the listing along. This follows the addition of Ripple’s listing with the DAX last week. Nick Cowan, the managing director and founder of the Gibraltar Stock Exchange (GSX) Group Limited, said,
“With a market capitalization of $2.3 billion USD at the end of 2018, EOS represents a significant addition for the GBX-DAX and is a further testament to the amazing work the team continues to do behind the scenes. Everyone is familiar with EOS.”
Cowan continued, “It is globally traded at volume. On the GBX-DAX, not only will it be traded in a secure and trusted environment, but a regulated and insured one. As we push for greater adoption of blockchain and digital assets, providing users with access to the best tokens via our regulated exchange continues to be at the heart of everything we do.”
The blockchain exchange has experienced many changes in the last year. The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission awarded them a full license in November. It had launched in February 2018 with a successful ICO, bringing in $27 million in funding.
According to CoinMarketCap, EOS is presently priced at $2.44, and has seen an increase of 1.13% in the last 24 hours. CEO of Iconiq Holding, Patrick Lowry, commented,
“Iconiq is excited to bring EOS to the GBX community by sponsoring its listing on the DAX. Iconiq is a large proponent of the GBX vision, and through the continued collaborative efforts of Iconiq, GBX and the great Sponsor Firms behind GBX, we aim to bring more quality tokens such as EOS to the GBX community.”
