An announcement released July 12th, 2018, by the Ontology team, revealed that it will be joining forces with LianAn Technology, a firm known for its exceptional formal verification technology. It has been confirmed that LianAn Technology will be serving as security specialists on Ontology’s “Co-Builder Plan.
The Co-Builder Plan was established sometime this year with the intentions of co-building the Ontology network with several global firms. As for the partnership, the two parties involved will be working together to address common areas of interest, which include “safety and security audit and formal verification”. In particular, the steps taken will ultimately build upon a sound and safe blockchain platform.
LianAn Technology as Ontology’s pick is praiseworthy, as the former is the only Chinese-based company to house such an effective technology. Furthermore, the tech firm is known for its interest in blockchain, which has been well-reflected in the automatic verification services provided to both the EOS and ETH smart contracts.
In addition to serving as security specialists, the unique technology will be used to provide automatic VaaS (Verification as a Service) platform that will house multiple contract languages. Moreover, a one-click formal verification tool will be offered as an attempt to scan and catch any codes that might pose a risk and any areas that require additional verifications. Another interesting fact worth mentioning, is the VaaS’ ability to help serve Ontology followers in regard to their needs, that is, by enhancing the overall customizable contracts experience.
Both Founders of Chengdu LianAn Technology and Ontology, YANG Xia and Ll Jun respectively, share a similar take on security and its negative implications. Xia believes that resolving security concerns is crucial, as,
“each security incident will cause panic in the crypto currency market and create a waterfall effect.”
As for the partnership, Xia shared:
“We are pleased to join Ontology’s “Co-Builder Plan” as a security specialist and look forward to working together to build a more solid fortress for blockchain security.”
Jun’s take on security more or less coincides with that of Xia’s, where he said,
“In the development process of blockchain technology, security needs to be placed first place and we need to attach great importance to it at all times.”
It appears that Jun also has a lot of confidence in LianAn Technology’s capabilities, as he believes that,
“the participation of LianAn Technology no doubt makes the teams stronger, more solid and unstoppable. We look forward to make joint efforts with Ontology’s co-builders to strive for building an open-source, open and cooperative distributed trust ecosystem”.
