On Twitter, developer Nik Bougalis talked about the new server. He noted:

Named after the Greek muse of history, Clio is based on a 5-year old idea. And now it’s hit the big 1.0. Oh, and did you know that it has been handling the websocket traffic to the “S1” and “S2” server clusters operated by @RippleXDev for a while now? BOOM!

He also added:

While the team at @RippleXDev will almost exclusively use Clio to handle WSS requests for S1 and S2 going forward, we are going to also continue running full history nodes and work to speed up and optimize the process of acquring and storing full history directly into `rippled`.
