Mobile apps that are utilizing blockchain technology could hit iPhone and Android devices by the end of the year. Forbes shared that digital market research specialists believe that there will be a “significant expansion” in the number of decentralized apps for mobile devices by the end of the year. However, developers will first have to deal with the current underwhelming number of decentralized app users before it could reach its potential.

Windsor Holden, head of forecasting in digital marketing firm Juniper Research, stated that the arrival of such apps “will occur in much the same way as the existing app ecosystem.”

He added:
