PNP Logistics Network And Blue Whale Foundation Partner Up To Provide Blockchain Solutions For Logistics Industry

Park N Parcel, a Singapore-based last-mile logistics firm, has revealed that its arm company, PNP Logistics Network will be joining forces with Blue Whale Foundation, a decentralized platform dedicated for freelancers. This alliance is supposedly a joined effort in bringing a blockchain-backed solution to the growing concerns surrounding the logistics industry and employee recognition, dubbed, “LogisticsX”.

Some of the problems that the duo plan on tackling includes increased costs, the lack of an efficient system, failure to incorporate technological advancements into delivery procedures and most importantly, working towards reducing missed parcel deliveries. When these sample concerns are resolved, whether it be B2B or B2C, each requirement or demand will be satisfied in an inexpensive and efficient manner.

LogisticsX Key Factors

LogisticsX will be focusing on four key factors that will boost the logistics industry, while ensuring that each individual involved is rightfully compensated for their contributions to the community. Here is a quick breakdown as to what one can expect:

1. The Implementation Of A Standard Operations Procedure

Establishing a SOP, according to the LogisticsX team, will help to bring together stakeholders within the last-mile logistics network. Ultimately, increasing communication, trust and efficiency within the logistics sector. In addition to the SOP, third-party logistics partners (3PLs) will be involved in ensuring that the same standards are applied across all services.

2. Welcoming Freelance Stakeholders Within The Logistics Network To Save Time

Incorporating freelance runners was done to supposedly reduce the costs of last-mile delivery. In addition to their role as “runners”, freelance workers can also choose to become “parkers points”, which requires them to manage parcel collection points. This saves a lot of time, especially when a delivery is missed because the goods will be redelivered through parkers points instead of making it back to the original destination and resent again.

3. The Implementation Of The LogisticsX Trustless Connect

The Trustless Connect was created as a way to increase trackability and time stamping. The decentralized system will help to answer several key questions ranging from the current location of a package, the last place it was occupied at and namely, in case of damages, when, where, how and who might have been responsible.

4. Protecting Rights of Freelance Logistics Workers

LogisticsX will not only be employing freelance workers as “runners” and “parkers points”, but the team involved will also be coming up with a reward system that compensates one’s efforts.

The COO and Co-Founder of Blue Whale Foundation, Hawon Chung has expressed increased delight since the announcement of the partnership. He shared that the partnership has resulted in a project that will help

“leverage on the Blue Whale Contribution Activity Manager (CAM) to keep track of the rewards earned through stakeholder activities.” Chung concluded by adding that he is hopeful for what LogisticsX has to offer and strongly believes that it will make “a positive impact on the last mile logistics industry”.
