Ljubljana, Slovenia To Host The European Blockchain Hub
The capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, will be hosing European Blockchain Hub, a non-profit organization that seeks to become Europe’s leader in bringing together all blockchain stakeholders.
European Blockchain Hub headquarters in the largest shipping district of Slovenia, BTC City. The city has had many big investments in technology recently, earning the title of ‘innovative and digital city’. Today, customers can buy a lot of products in the city using bitcoin.
Prior to its launch on Friday, the hub’s founders joined hands with 13 other organizations from different regions within the blockchain industry, including those offering research, regulation and education. Some of the big partners include Blockchain Alliance Europe and the Slovenian government.
Values And Principles Of Good Corporate GovernanceAccording the project’s spokesperson, the hub will be about ‘values and principles of good corporate governance’ in Europe when it comes to promotion and implementation of blockchain technology. It will also focus on aiding and working closely with startups in the blockchain sector.
While blockchain hub will help Slovenia appear as a crypto-friendly nation, its ambitions of becoming the leading blockchain country in Europe may not be possible, considering that many other nations have taken great strides to compete for the top position.
For instance, Malta has made headlines recently with measures to promote the country as cryptocurrency and blockchain friendly. In fact, the country’s Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat, recently addressed the UN Assembly, noting that cryptocurrencies are the ‘inevitable future of money’.
