As part of this ongoing quest, today, we are excited to announce an integration with  Shapeshift, an internationally renowned cryptocurrency trading platform. Ledger Nano S users can now plug their hardware wallets into ShapeShift.com and enjoy the platform’s benefits such as zero-commission crypto trading from their device free of charge. 

As two companies that believe in the importance of having complete control of your digital assets and private keys, this partnership is a natural fit for both parties. In 2019, a record-breaking $4 billion was stolen from cryptocurrency exchanges, underscoring just how critical it remains that traders control their own assets.  Ledger and Shapeshift are both committed to empowering users to securely manage their own funds. This integration also underscores the openness of Ledger’s solution, which allows for these types of third party integrations. 

Starting today, Ledger Nano S users can seamlessly send, receive, trade, buy, track, and hodl crypto assets on ShapeShift.com with the complete security provided by Ledger’s independently certified hardware wallets.  Ledger users will also be able to use their bank accounts to buy crypto through ShapeShift platform and automatically deposit the funds onto a hardware wallet device. Current ShapeShift users can get started here, while those without a ShapeShift account can begin here. 

Through the integration, Ledger Nano S users can also trade their crypto with zero commission and all new users will get 100 FOX (ShapeShift native token) after signup.
