Ever since the Tron Virtual Machine (TVM) was activated in October of last year, the amount of smart contracts and DApps on the Tron (TRX) network has continued to increase at an exceptional pace. In the three months or so since the activation of the TVM, 3,856 smart contracts are now live on the network. These contracts have been triggered an amazing 134.2 Million times.

It is with this constant development on the Tron network that the number of Decentralized Applications continues to increase on a daily basis. Justin Sun, noted this progress via a tweet that stated the following:

Checking DappRadar, the number of DApps on the Tron network is 101 at the moment of writing this. Confirming the same on Dapp Review, the Tron network currently has 133 DApps also at the moment of writing this.

As mentioned by Justin, that number will soon increase due to the ongoing Tron Accelerator plan with $1 Million in prizes. Launched in early December, the accelerator plan plans on empowering developers and start ups to develop DApps on the Tron protocol.

Submission of projects for consideration in the accelerator program was between the 1st of December and the 4th of January. The breakdown of the $1 Million to be distributed is as follows:

The accelerator plan has completed the judging phase where all the DApps are reviewed by a panel. The winners have already been emailed according to an announcement on the project’s Discord channel that stated the following.

As TRON Accelerator results coming out, we have emailed winners with prizes, moving forward, we will announce a list of all winners through website and other PR channels, please stay tuned.

The grand price winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd) will have a chance to attend the NiTRON Summit with all expenses catered for by the Tron Foundation.
