High Mobility To Leverage The IOTA Blockchain Protocol in Developing Automotive Apps

This Tuesday, High Mobility announced a partnership with the IOTA Foundation to use the latter’s blockchain protocol in the development of apps. The news was posted on the High Mobility blog on Medium.

High Mobility is a leading development platform for apps concerning automobiles. Access to the IOTA blockchain protocol is expected to ease the development of High Mobility apps.

According to Kevin Valdek, the CTO of High Mobility, the IOTA blockchain protocol will enable the development of several types of applications that were previously inconceivable. This is because of the advanced nature of the IOTA blockchain infrastructure.

The first project under this partnership was a smart charging solution developed using the IOTA blockchain protocol. Concerning this, Valdek said that,

“The pioneering project will teach them how to record vehicle data on a blockchain ledger. He also added that they will how to it can be integrated with payment solutions and charging devices.”

Alias Maas, the head of mobility and automotive department at the IOTA Foundation, expressed optimism that the collaboration would benefit both parties. Precisely, he said that improving scalability and user-friendliness of blockchain solutions would increase the adoption rates of the technology.

High Mobility developers are likely to begin using the IOTA blockchain protocol before the year ends. Specifically, they will be using the High Mobility development API on top of the IOTA blockchain protocol.

Developers will have access to short and simplified guidelines on how to use their new workspaces. Moreover, the platform will have an interactive interface to further simplify the development process.

The partnership between High Mobility and the IOTA Foundation will certainly benefit both firms. High Mobility will be able to develop new types of automotive applications, whereas the IOTA Foundation will enjoy an increased adoption of its blockchain protocol.
