Blockchain And AI Will Create New Job Opportunities – India’s Prime Minister

According to an article on the New York Times, nascent technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence pose a serious threat to the existence of the human workforce. The article supported its stance by including relevant stats. However, Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, believes that these technologies will not replace human workers. Instead, the premier stated that people would have to adapt their jobs to conform to these developments.

The Prime Minister expressed his sentiments during the World Economic Forum (WEF) for the fourth industrial revolution. Modi is renowned for his strong belief in emerging technologies, having been quoted saying that blockchain and AI will have a significant impact on all facets of the global economy. Some of the industries he motioned include financial services, security, healthcare, and agriculture.

Narendra acknowledged the openness of the Indian government to developing policies for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He added that the developmental phase always poses challenges to countries. Precisely, the PM stated that some people are worried that the adoption of new technologies will adversely impact their employment statuses, while in reality, it would create new opportunities. The only change would be the nature of the available jobs.

Throughout Modi’s tenure, the Indian government has been very supportive of emerging technologies, launching several projects in the process. These projects include Atal Innovation Mission, Make in India, Startup India, and Digital India. In this regard, the premier said that the government is aware of the potential of technologies such as blockchain, Big Data Analytics and AI to transform the technology space in India.

The government of India intends to use blockchain technology to enhance the efficiency of its services. Amazingly, this technology will remove the government itself as an intermediary. Some of the services that will befit from this technology include, registration of assets and property as well as management of resources.
