Here’s How Bitcoin Hits $180,000 This Cycle, According To NBA Legend Who Predicted BTC’s Bull Run

The price of Bitcoin may reach $180,000 by the end of this year, according to legendary basketball player Scottie Pippen.

Pippen’s prediction comes as CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju, who had previously asserted that the Bitcoin bull cycle was intact, recently changed his stance, claiming that all on-chain metrics suggest the bull market is over.

Pippen Calls For $180K BTC

Pippen took to X to share BTC charts comparing the previous bull run in 2020 to the current market. According to his charts, the Bitcoin price is currently mirroring the trajectory seen with the 2020 bull rally.

Notably, Bitcoin consolidated at the $9,000 level between June and July 2020 before witnessing a meteoric price surge in late July. This strong upward momentum helped the alpha crypto to break past the stubborn resistance at $10,000, eventually peaking above $12,000. However, BTC encountered resistance at this top and was stuck in a consolidation phase for multiple weeks before slumping under $10K in September 2020.

The wintry freeze enveloped the crypto market for weeks, with some predicting at the time that the Bitcoin bull run had ended. However, a strong rally in late October stirred the bulls, pushing the price of Bitcoin higher. The rally persisted well into 2021, with the asset hitting an all-time high of $69,000 at the time.

Based on his charts, Pippen anticipates a repeat of this pattern. “I know a thing or two about history repeating itself,” the former NBA star told his 723,700 followers on X.

Pippen has quietly taken over the Crypto Twitter timeline in recent months with bizarre statements regarding the cryptosphere.

As you may recall, the seven-time NBA All-Star and two-time Olympic gold medalist was quite accurate with his previous forecast. In early September 2024, Pippen claimed that Bitcoin’s enigmatic creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, communicated to him in a dream and told him that the cryptocurrency’s price would hit $84,650 on November 5. Interestingly, Bitcoin ended up nearing that target less than a week later. 

Should the Bitcoin price continue mirroring the same course from 2020, Pippen’s chart foresees it could endure a couple more weeks of range-bound trading. However, the charts predict a steady recovery from July 2025, with Bitcoin potentially surpassing the ever-newer all-time high of $109K.
