South Korean court has temporarily lifted a 3-month ban on top crypto exchange Upbit. Regulators imposed the ban in February. South Korea’s cryptocurrency exchange Upbit has received reprieve from the courts, with a three-month ban on the crypto exchange now lifted albeit temporarily.
Tether’s market capitalisation slid 1. 5% over the last seven days as broader MiCA regulations across crypto asset service providers in the Eurozone kicked in on Dec 30. These regulations include some stringent rules for global stablecoin providers as some European exchanges have begun to delist USDT.
The UAE updated its tax laws to exempt crypto transactions from value-added tax. The change will take effect on November 15 but retroactively apply to transactions from January 1, 2018. The UAE government amended its regulations around value-added tax laws to exclude digital assets and transactions involving them.
The UAE Central Bank approved a framework for stablecoin regulation which allows only dirham-backed stablecoins to be used for payments.
