Google-owned YouTube inadvertently advertized an illegitimate version of the Bitcoin wallet Electrum. A Redditor unearthed the issue, noting how the malicious advert was disguised to resemble a real Electrum advertisement.
“It even tells you to go the correct link (electrum. org) in the video but when you click on the advertisement it immediately starts downloading the malicious exe file,” the Redditor said.
