After a year of development, Germany’s second-largest stock exchange has released a mobile app for cryptocurrency trading.
Boerse Stuttgart Group announced Thursday the launch of Bison app, now available for iOS 9+ and Android 4.4+ devices in Germany. The Bison app allows the trading of bitcoin (BTC), ethereum (ETH), XRP, and litecoin (LTC), including the funding of these account with euros.
Partnering with its financial subsidiary EUWAX, Bison will act as a wallet for storing tokens and carry no trading fees with that subsidiary handling all the trades and another, Blocknox GmbH, handling custody of the coins.
SolarisBank AG has agreed to a partnership for processing and custody of cash deposits so users can be protected under the country’s deposit guarantee. Currently, users will only be able to trade between 6 am and midnight local time but that won’t always be the case, according to the announcement.
A subsidiary of Boerse Struttgart Digital Ventures, Sowa Labs, developed the app itself. Ceo Ulli Spankowski, came out saying additional features will be added including support for more cryptocurrencies and stretching trading time to 24/7.
Boerse has said in the past they have plans to launch their own ICO platform, saying token issuers will be able to conduct sales with “standardized and transparent processes” and “multilateral trading venue for cryptocurrencies” (August 2018) and general custody solutions.
This platform is still in the works and is currently under development. Bison app plans on expanding to more European countries later this year.
