Fusion Whisky and Adelphi Distillery have recently partnered up in an effort to include blockchain technology in their new whisky. In particular, each whiskey bottle, dubbed, “The Winter Queen,” will be registered on blockchain technology to ensure that consumers are confident in what they are getting for their money’s worth.
According to News BTC, this endeavor is a second for the both parties involved, as Fusion Whiskey previously launched “The Brisbane,” which involved blockchain technology, along with Adelphi Distillery’s AD Spirit which is also on blockchain.
Interestingly, this is the second time The Winter Queen makes a presence, as it first did back in February. The reason the duo decided to bring it back is supposedly to honor Scottish Princess, Elizabeth Stuart who was affirmed Queen of Bohemia back in the 17th century.
According to Adelphi Distillery’s Managing Director, Alex Bruce, it was not a surprise that a second edition of the Winter Queen was being released, as the first one was an alleged success.
As per his quote,
“This is our most complex fusion to date, with more than six different malt whiskies going into the blend.”
Getting back to ensuring consumers’ confidence, by registering the whiskies, consumers can now check the origin of the whiskies. In order to make this a reality, the duo supposedly worked alongside tech firm, Arc-Net, who not only expressed enthusiasm for the duo’s efforts, but also appears to be a fan of their whiskey.
The effort taken by the duo only goes to show a feasible solution to knock-offs that currently exist. By giving consumers the necessary details, such companies are enforcing trust. Furthermore, said consumers will confirm for themselves that they do hold the actual The Winter Queen – ridding them of doubts.
