Cryptocurrency exchange FTX has announced a partnership with MLM, which is its first sponsorship deal with a crypto company.
According to the announcement, the new partnership will feature uniform patches for umpires and will be for the long term. The partnership will enable FTX to use highlights of players in its content creation.
This is coming following the exchange’s partnership with Miami Heat, which also renamed the stadium FTX Arena. With the latest partnership, the company is making an expansive move into the professional sports space.
MLB umpires to wear FTX logosThe inscription of the FTX logo on the umpire uniforms will be used initially on the MLB All-Star game on July 13th. The FTX patches will also be placed on all umpire uniforms for the duration of the season, spring training, and preseason, according to the partnership.
The sponsorship deal means FTX will now have the right to add MLB logos in their marketing campaigns. As a result, fans will start seeing MLB and FTX logos on any promotional activities by both FTX and MLB. This includes on social media platforms, MLB.TV, MLB Network, MLB.com, as well as MLB games.
Sam Bankman-Fried, Chief Executive Officer of FTX, commented on the partnership, saying that it’s an honor for FTX to be involved in such a sponsorship deal. FTX.COM and FTX.US are excited to enter this first-of-its-kind partnership with Major League Baseball, Bankman-Fried stated. He added that more details about the partnership will be announced shortly.
Major League Baseball commented on the development. The association stated that the MLB fanbase is the first adopters of new tech. it stated that the association is happy to partner with FTX which has continuously demonstrated its leadership strength in the crypto industry.
“We cannot wait to start collaborating with Sam and the entire FTX team,” MLB’’s Chief Revenue Officer, Noah Garden, concluded.
