It seems that the founder of Fortnite and the creator of Epic Games is bullish on the technology behind virtual currencies. In a recent tweet, Tim Sweeney showed its support to decentralized computing tech behind virtual currencies.
This is very important for the cryptocurrency space that is still shocked by the addition of Monero (XMR) as a means of payment to Fortninte’s merch store.
Many of us at Epic are big fans of the decentralized computing tech underlying cryptocurrency, however a lot more work is needed on volatility and fraud-proofing before bringing it to such a broad audience that includes younger gamers.

He went on saying that several individuals at Epic are also big fans of blockchain technology. Nevertheless, in order to improve the technology, he mentioned that a lot of work is needed. If blockchain technology wants to reach the gaming industry and revolutionize many others, it will have to be improved over time.
Sweeney wanted to be clear explaining that Epic does not have any crypto-related partner and that is not in any crypto partnership discussions with anyone. He makes that clear after accepting Monero as a means of payment.
Googling this, there’s quite a rumor mill out there. No, Epic doesn’t have any cryptocurrency partners and aren’t in any crypto partnership discussions with anyone. We do read lots of papers and talk to smart people to learn more in anticipation of an eventual intercept.

The company decided to add support to this privacy coin due to the fact that it provides an enhanced service to users.
According to Riccardo Spagni, the founder and creator of Monero informed that although the company did not add support to Bitcoin (BTC) they are interested in the Lightning Network (LN).
Too cool: the Fortnite merch store (https://t.co/KNL4IFCFHk) lets you pay in Monero, so now you can purchase that sweet Durrr Burger onesie without your friends / family / coworkers judging you. https://t.co/XYs1NjGvGp

Bitcoin does not have the same privacy features as Monero. This was one of the reasons why the company did not accept Bitcoin.
In the past, Sweeney said that there are some powerful ideas in the crypto and blockchain space. Furthermore, he said that Ethereum is a very interesting asset, even more than Bitcoin because of the possibilities that it allows for.
It seems that with these comments, Sweeney and the team behind Epic are thinking at all times about virtual currencies and blockchain technology. It shows that the space has a lot to offer and blockchain technology will clearly play an important role in improving games in the future.
Just a few months ago, Tron launched a gaming fund called Tron Arcade in order to attract companies to the blockchain industry and develop new games.
