Forbes releases a list of the top entrepreneurs under age 30 every year, bringing attention to some of the biggest success stories of the year. With over 20 categories to review for each “30 under 30” group, there are many important names added to the list. With all of the progression of the blockchain industry recently, it may come as no surprise that there are four people included that are directly tied in with blockchain technology, as TheNextWeb reports.
Olaoluwa Osuntokun, one of the co-founders of Lightning Labs, made the list, to start. This project is a layer on the Lightning Network, promoting better scalability for Bitcoin. Osuntokun is in good company with Hunter Horsley, who works as the CEO for Bitwise Asset Management. Bitwise is most popular for their management of BIT10, Abra’s “ETF”-styled token.
Nader Al-Naji is also on the list, following his successful fundraising campaign of $130 million to help with his stablecoin business. Much of his funding came from the support of names like Andreessen Horowitz and Bain Capital Ventures.”
JB Rubinovitz is the fourth entrepreneur in the blockchain industry to be added to the Forbes list. Originally an artist, his claim to fame in the crypto world is Bail Bloc, a platform that helps raise funds to cover the bail of offenders, tracking everything through blockchain technology.
TheNextWeb pondered an interesting question in their coverage – have the entrepreneurs on the list “done enough to earn their place on this list?” Many of the non-blockchain entrepreneurs have awards and accolades for their work, like Mikaela Shiffrin, the Olympic skier with world titles and gold medals as her accolades. However, there is not any recognition to this degree in the cryptocurrency industry quite yet.
