Fantom (FTM/USD), the highly scalable blockchain platform for dApps, DeFi, and enterprise applications, has integrated open-source oracle provider DIA within its ecosystem, Invezz learned from a press release. DIA’s integration with Fantom Opera Mainnet will give Fantom-powered dApps access to end-to-end customizable oracles.
DeFi developers leverage DIA data feeds to create use casesWith the integration, DeFi developers on Opera mainnet will be able to leverage DIA’s vast set of data feeds to create extensive use cases including lending, borrowing, stablecoins, DEXs, staking rewards, and more.
Oracles are the basis for emerging DeFi applicationsThe total value locked (TVL) within DeFi protocols has gained over 1,000% since January this year and oracles have become a crucial component of emerging DeFi applications as dApps rely on dependable, verified external data feeds. DIA will source data feeds of Fantom Network native assets as most Fantom projects run exclusively on the Fantom blockchain.
It will obtain information directly from SpookySwap and other native markets, allowing Fantom-native projects to receive data from a Fantom-native oracle. This will ensure a customizable, frictionless, and transparent data infrastructure with maximum asset price data coverage.
Fantom CEO Michael Kong commented:
We are excited to have DIA’s open-source oracles deployed in Fantom’s mainnet. DIA’s decentralised approach to data sourcing will help dApp developers build accurate and resilient products on Fantom.
Michael Weber, Founder and Association President at DIA, added:
Fantom is an exciting ecosystem with a fast and efficient ledger and a growing number of dApps operating. We are very excited to contribute to its adoption by helping new dApps have access to transparent and reliable data. Developers on Fantom can now start using DIA oracles to build new use cases for any digital asset.
The integration will allow developers within the Fantom network to customize specific methods and create unique price feed oracles, thereby achieving maximum adaptability and transparency. They will be able to port Ethereum-native (ETH/USD) apps to the Fantom network and plug DIA oracles to fuel its smart contracts as Fantom is compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
